Trip to Wilson Lake 4/08 t0 4/11

Our group of 8 made the trip to Doublehead Resort on Wilson Lake, Alabama. We fished two days and caught and weighed 148 fish that weighed 152 lbs. While we were cleaning the first days catch, some people from Kansas and California were interested. They had never seen a Crappie. One of our party invited them to come over for a cookout that night. They came, and fell in love with fried Crappie filets, Jo Jo potatoes and Onion Rings. They liked them so well, they took some back to their wives. Attached are a few photos:





The two "handsome" guys are Toothpick and his fishing partner. I was very pleased with the catch, given that there was a strong cold front that hit the day we arrived.

You might fool some of our Northern neighbors, but I know darn well what you fed those people from Kansas and California. I see him laying on the ground toward the right side of the second pic!

Some Einstein decided we should have a "trash fish" category, hence the discard! Those people from Kansas were like a blind dog in a meat market! The largest fish we weighed were two that weighed 1lb. 15 oz. each. Several were over a pound and 1/2.
