Why is this country LOWERING the bar of expectation?

I was always taught that we should rise to higher expectations.... to excel

Examples:

Honor Rolls:
I hear about schools possibly doing away with "Honor Rolls" because it makes the ones that don't make the Honor Roll feel inferior/lesser about themselves.

The ones that work to excel deserve the recognition... they work for it and earn it. The ones that don't excel don't care enough or put in the time to work for it.

If they drop the Honor Roll, why should the hard workers continue to strive to achieve... they won't get anything for their efforts.

Youth sports:
"Everyone is a winner and everyone gets a trophy"
This just goes against what happens in the real world.
Pay is based (or should be based) on merit... work harder earn more... slack off or just show up and it can jeopardize your job, the company's earning potential, perception etc.

What happened to try-outs?... show you can do what needs to be done? Earn a spot?.. then work to keep it or get demoted to pine-rider.

Business:
You do well in business and start to make decent mony... grow the company and you are "penalized" with higher taxes.

...... and one of her nonfiction books "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal".

The surprising resurgent and continuing sales of "Atlas Shrugged" does offer some hope for this country's future if her philosophy of Objectivism would gain some traction in this country.

That was so those of limited intelligence (lazy) could at least have a gambler's chance......

not to mention his admitted abuse of power in the FBI... background checks on his "cheating wife's" then boyfriend... and then lied that he had a police buddy do it for him..then after he is okayed.. he says... he did it himself...twice

You are living in a dream world if you think that is the way the Corporate World works now a days. It is the a$$ kissers that make the promotions in the corporate world. It isn't that you do your job as required but how much booty you kiss. Glad I am not having to put up with it anymore. EB
