Default Found an ol George Jones song.

It did not get much air time.....I guess.....cuz I never remember hearing it. Guess cuz it was not politically correct for the time it came out. Would like for you to take a min. with Veterans day near, and listen to it. If it moves you like it did me, please pass it on.

I retired from the Navy in 1971 and while I never served in Vietnam my trip to the Wall was one of the most moving experiences of my life. I believe it was the Smithsonian that had an exhibition from Vietnam and my most vivid memory from that was those small bamboo cages they used on our troops, please remember.

Our main purposes for going there was the Smithsonian and the Wall. I have never been to an exhibit where, not only the exhibit was a wonder to see, it had a "feeling" in the air. From the time we aproched the walk, it seems like all sound was shut down. No one there was talking, you could see a few silent tears, people doing rubbings etc. The main thing I noticed was the reverence, the humbleness, the respect that was being shown by all who were near. Quite the moving experence.

    Thank you sir.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

USN RET. Never served in country but but flew a lot of missions on the coastline. Yankee station and market time. Have seen the portable wall a couple of times have some buddies names on it. Check out the viet nam era music web. site has a lot of oldies on it. Thanks
