Why? It's easier to hide all the taxes, fees, and government mandates if they're spread out amongst 2,000 pages.

They don't want people to read it or understand it. They just want to pass it. It's just the latest law that won't apply to Congress.

It's not over with yet, though. A good number of House Democrats won't vote for it. Same goes for the Senate.

I am very concerned for our country. A document that is nearly 2,000 pages long should take months to study, debate, and amend and they will try to push it through in days.

deathbeforedisco - has got this crap nailed to the wall. All this feel goody stuff about health care, climate change legislation , is all about raising taxes. Politicians are never satisfied unless they get it ALL.

States now run lotteries and casinos in conjunction with all these taxes and its still not enough.Whens the last time your property tax went in the downward direction ?

But what is really sad is some shmuck thinks somehow all these government services are free. When the government state or federal offers a "service " just change the name to tax.

If the problem is "health insurance and medical cost are too expensive" you would think that if they are gonna reform it, it would cost less. So if it's gonna cost less, why all the new taxes build in to this new system. The easy answer, to pay for all the useless government people it's gonna take to run the cheaper system that will only cost more for less. I must confess, they got me mixed up and confused too.

Young feller( mid 20s) across the street from me were conversing about health care.

He wanted to know why I got Medicare and he couldn't. I told him I had paid into the system 45 years before I could get benefits. He said "so what". This is the problem that I see coming.

Now if they the government would reimburse all of us that had paid into the system without drawing entitlements and start all over, I would consider it as a fair shake for us suckers that played and payed by the rules.

I would further venture to say that a large portion of ss and medicare is drawn via lawsuit recipients rather than the need. Too many people get benefits that they never paid for.

This bill should inspire men of action, but sadly I think many if not most will let it slide as they continue into the abyss of wussyhood and comfort with their video games and cell phones. God help us all.
