You Talk About A Sad Place To (try) To Stay!!!!

A recent cancer survivor from our area decided he needed to do something special to support the American Cancer Society. He began training for a walk of HUGE proportion which would incorporate 500 miles. He trained and gathered sponsors for his journey and left our small town almost 3 weeks ago. He crossed the state of Kentucky and into Indiana and was almost through the whole state of Indiana when he hit a SAD PLACE, THE PHEASANT COUNTRY INN. He had made reservations weeks in advance as he had to map out his journey in great detail. DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE WAS WALKING!!!! When he made it to FOWLER INDIANA he called the PHEASANT COUNTRY INN for final directions. THEY HAD THE NERVE TO TELL A GUY, A CANCER SURVIVOR, THAT HAD WALKED 400 +/- MILES OF A 500 MILE JOURNEY, THAT HE HAD NO ROOM FOR THE NIGHT. EVEN AFTER THE RESERVATIONS HAD BEEN MADE WEEKS AHEAD OF TIME. THEY HAD THE AMDIDIGATED GAUL TO TELL HIM THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER TOWN 14 MORE MILES UP THE ROAD THAT WAS CHEAPER AND HE COULD STAY THERE. EVEN AFTER HE HAD WALKED IN THE COLD RAIN ALL DAY LONG??? THEY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WELL IN ADVANCE AND THEY KNEW THE REASON BEHIND IT. YET, SINCE HE WAS WALKING, INSTEAD OF DRIVING, HE WAS TURNED AWAY. THIS REMINDS ME OF A STORY THAT HAS BEEN TOLD MANY MANY TIMES ABOUT SOMEONE BEING TURNED AWAY FROM A FANCY INN BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY LOOKED. THANK GOODNESS THAT TURNED OUT BETTER THAN THIS DID..LIKE THE TITLE IMPLIES, PHEASANT COUNTRY INN IS A SAD SAD PLACE, TO BE CALLED A PLACE TO COME IN OUT OF THE STORM!!!!!!!

That just AINT right! I certainly wouldnt support their inn by staying there.

Now she is going with the, WE DONT TAKE CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS ROUTE FOR A EXCUSE FOR JUST BEING BLAME MEAN AND HATEFUL. BUT HERE IS THE KICKER, THEY TOLD HIM OF THIS WHEN HE MADE THE RESERVATIONS TO START WITH SO his wife had wired him the money two days earlier and they still would not let him stay, EVEN WITH CASH!!!! I wonder just how you pay for a room in that place???? I have never seen a place that would not take good old cash. BUT REGARDLESS, he found another place to stay AND IS ON THE FINAL LEG OF HIS JOURNEY. He had 480 miles under his belt this morning and had 20 more to do today and then he's finished. He was going into Chicago this morning for the last leg...500 MILES WALKING FOR SOMETHING HE BELIVES IN...SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERYDAY!!!!

WOW grousefly thats a great thing for anyone to do for a great cause and being a cancer survivor to. I cant believe how mean some people can be towards other people just because of what they look like or drive.
You would think that a place like that would be wanting to donate a cozy room to someone persuring a great cause like cancer survivors.

Sounds like me I walked into a 4 wheeler ATV store to get an atv checked out that I just bought from a neighbor and he asked me to take it to the dealership and drop it off for a full inspection and service and he would pay for that and knock some off the price to. I said ok and did and was also picking up some metal and other supplies that day to. I came in and was looking pretty grubby dropped off the atv earlier and was waiting to get it and checking out some new atvs when the manager came over and said thats a nice machine. I said yes it sure is and would like to buy one like this sometime. He said its nice but dont think you can afford one. Right then they called my name and said my 4 wheeler ATV was ready to go. He said is that your atv. I said YUP sure is and since I cant afford one of these I just Bought that one and PAID CASH and it was only $1500 less than this brand new one here on your show room floor and only has 50 miles on it

He started back pedeling and I said save it PAL I will be doing all my business else where and tell everyone I know that they cant afford an ATV there if they come in looking like a grubby bum. LOL Well all I have to say on this and the Pleasant Country Inn is what comes around goes around. Thats just bad karma and people like that get a turn on the other end of the counter wanting a room or some other service sooner or later.

Hate to hear he had to have problems like this on his journey but should be commended for all his hard work and long walk for the fight for cancer. Let him know we all wish him well and a big thanks for supporting the cancer fight and survivors

perch, email the inn and see what they tell you! seems that when i emailed them, thousands of others had done the same and it turned out to be a mistake that the lady there is having to live with. still doesn't make to much sense to [email protected] oh yea, she says that she is gonna turn over all the hate emailes and letters to the chicago tribune where mr.OBAMA CAN READ THEM! HOPE MR. OBAMA ASKS HER WHY SHE DIDN'T DO THE RIGHT THING AND LET THE GUY STAY FREE!!

ill check it out BC2 thats funny going to forward hate mail. She or that motel/INN can say what they want it all boils down to mean people that dont care about others. IF that were my Inn and I over booked and didnt have a room for him I would have made arrangements at a nice place and made sure he had transportation to it and stayed the night free.
