    Default Olympic Washout

Turns out that some folks are smarter than we give them credit for..Chicago didn't make it past the first round with Obama as the corner man..

Don't blame the people for not choosing the "Town of Thugs"...

I guess you don't know the murder rate in Rio is 2.5 times higher than in Chicago. You just want to hate on your own country cause your president represented them

DonG! That is like saying you would want the US to loose a war because you don't like the president. I didn't support the war but did support our troops and still do, but to be glad that this country lost the Olympics is a little much, I think! That is going right down party lines in my estimation. Not the country Beav, but the city...I just feel like our Olympic Committee are the ones that were following the pied piper so to speak...I think there are a lot of cities in our country that would have been a lot better choice than Chicago....but Chicago?? just a coincidence I guess:D:D:D:D:D

A war & the olympics don't fall in the same category...mho

    I agree!!!

How can you support the troops and not support the war. By not supporting the war you are giving a reason for the enemy to fight.
We can go on and on about the War and never go anywhere. The simple fact was: The UN had a resolution for Iraq to disarm and disclose all chemical weapons years before the war. If they did not member states would take military action. That is what happened and what the UN determined should happen. No chemical weapons were found because they were moved. Iraq admitted that they had chemical weapons. Bush did not say this Saddam did. Where are they? They did not vanish! They are somewhere!!!! That was the reason for the war - and to rid a murderer from office!
Go ahead Beav. make up some more BS.

Default Hey! I want in on this.

Holy Cow! This is just right up my pipe. While a serious faction of this country is caught up in parties like Demo or Republic, We The People are left wondering why our native Chicago got dissed for the Olympics. I am an American by gawd and here to tell ya why: THANK GOD the Olympics aint taking place on American soil. With our popularity which we have well-earned in the global scheme, we should breath a sigh of relief. Just me for myself as one, I dont really care to see a bullseye put on Chicago, which you dont have to be a CIA operative to fathom. We still got a raghead living in splendor behind 9-11 we cant seem to take out, best we clean up our past messes before sending invitations for another; common thinking & my logic says. We have so much to worry about as a country, it pisses me off. Man I love it here, and I have been & lived overseas and that was even better. There, its said. Me said the saying. What kind of kite are you sailing on when world focus can center on weapons of mass destructioin when we, regardless all the reasons & justification, are the only country to ever drop a nuke? I beg to differ. I think it takes alot more than American citizenship to play that one off and then go into the world market being a naysayer of such. I bet it aint in my day but hope it is cuz I will be first to stand behind what the mind God has given me to decipher.
Too much monetary influence, ANY is too much and shifts focus from what is real to what has financial gain for those calling the shots. Nuthin new here, I bet the majority of ya all sense it. Some are driven by patriotism and that is indeed a righteous thang, but many more are misled, prey to the media/masses, etc...
Stand up for yurself I say, even if you are in the minority or find yurself on the chitty end of mass appeal. You owe that to yurself as a member of this country and yur stance will harden the fiber of the backbone you want to realize as an American.
You vets, I am talking to you. You all paid whatever premium for this country as a part of it. Whether you believed in it or not, whatever physical, emotional, whatever kinda scare it may have left, you came back to yur homeland and by gawd you are one of us. In particular, I am addressing you folks. Little be it for me to call out where ya been or what ya did. I have my own story and rather than air it out here let me give you the space to give out or recluse any & all of yur service to this country. I had the good fortune of my moms sis marrying a dude named Al Jelen. I dont think Als story has ever been told. He was my uncle thru marriage, our farms were 3 miles away, I come from a close family-Easter & Thanksgiving were big feasts with all the 1st & 2nd cousins present, we all knew each other WELL. Al had hearing aids in both ears and couldnt hear chit. Helen my aunt had developed a normal response to living with Al that made her scream trying to allow Al to hear her.
He was a good pig farmer and did carpentry on the side. Nobody could talk in a normal tone that Al could hear, thenceforth anytime Al was present the decibel count was high. My Dad was barely able to live at home at the time cuz of emphazema. Al had retired from the farm and Helen died of heart attack in '85. Al had a chip on his shoulder that the average man could recognize right off. Als' favorite saying was "huh" cuz he was deaf. He would drag out photo albums that as a medic in WWII he had taken pics of. Black n whites. Nazis stacked up like cordwood in France, U.S. troops laying gutted, grotesque. I just dont understand how history is taught to kids nowdays.

Dang Shoer and your point was?

I sure hope your meds or herbs aren't going to keep you from enjoying and recalling your football games this afternoon.

Iffen only I lived closer I'd be taking you up on your breakfast offer and and a fishing trip in the Onion and perhaps getting to your point. :D
