    Default Green Tomatoes....


    Does anyone know of a way to get them red?? Ya know... knida like putting green banannas in a paper bag to get em yellow?????



    Had a whole bunch come on at the end of the season. Wanted them to ripen on the vine, but have frost warnings up for tonight. Thanks for any help. AF

    i wrapped mine up with some shop paper towels i had handy took about a week in my shed
    [never snap at the hand that feeds ya

    Wrap them indiviually in newspaper and store them in a cool dry place..........
    They will turn red & ripen but not taste like vine ripe ones................ had tomatos from the garden in Jan , Feb..........

    Slice em up, dip in buttermilk, dredge in flour,salt,pepper, fry in peanut oil till brown. Who needs red maters!!!

    Slice, drop in buttermilk, roll in cornmeal, drop in hot oil...Fried green tomatos...good stuff!

    The window sill been doing if for me for as long as I can remember. I lil sun at room temp. Nothing complicated, just works.
