    Default Bucket beds

Todd Miller and Doug Coakley came down today and helped me put out 200 buckets. By next spring, we will be catching good crappie on them. With the lake at winter pool, we put the buckets in about 4 to 5 feet of water. Putting buckets out is easiest way I have found for placing your own structure. And I am all about doing things the easy way. lol
Could only get 5 pictures in this post. Will post others in next one.

The rest of the bucket pictures.
It took us around 2 1/2 hours to load the buckets in the boat, take them to a gravel bank, put gravel in them, sink them, and mark them with a gps. Now we have 200 more stumps in the lake. If we catch one fish off one out of 5 buckets, thats 40 fish every time we go to this spot. Some times we will catch more, some times it will be less. Either way, fish WILL hang around them.

    Default dumb question

Whenever I put buckets inside of buckets like you did, they stick together and I can't get them apart. How do you do it?

    Thanks

Once you put the gravel in them, they won't go together deep enough to stick. These buckets are the easiest way to set structure that I know of.

hmm, I think I am going to tell my painter friend to start saving them for me. There are enough rocks on the shore where I fish, I can just load buckets only, fetch rocks off the bank. I have the perfect 4-5' area for them. Come spring spawn, it could double the take. Here in Oklahoma, we call gravel dirt. lol, (is what it looks like is in the buckets)

I'm assuming you are putting the buckets in Ky Lake. My brother-in-law and I do the same thing here on the north end of the lake. we hav been putting quik crete in our but I think I like your way better. Heck of a lot less work & cheaper too. We put most of our buckets on points. They make a heck of a stump row. I have a buddy that lives down that way. Lives in Dover. You might know him he fishes a lot. Dale Sykes. Great Guy! Well Keep up the good work.
