    Smile Skin Cancer Why Me

Well we've all been told to protect our selves from the sun. Today they dug a hole in my hand to remove what they call Squamous cell cancer. Now I will buy a pair of gloves that protects me . Cabelas sells them for $12 bucks, to have this removed cost, Don't know yet , until we see if it has spread to other tissue??? Long story short, Protect your skin..

Stay positive rocket.. I had one taken off my back 10 years ago, and they got it all. Always a scary situation. Use that sun screen!

Amen to that. Skin cancer is one of the worst kinds you can get.

I stay completely covered up when I'm outside. (With my blond hair and green eyes, I'm high risk.)

I wear long-sleeve pants and shirts regardless of how hot it is. I wear a flats cap that covers my ears and neck. (Baseball caps are worthless for sun protection.) I also wear sun gloves.

My sunscreen is SPF 45 or 50. I also use sunscreen lip balm.

Ears, nose, cheeks are high risk areas. I know from experience. I don't cover up, but I grease down and wear rim hat now. I get checked out once at year for skin cancers. I probably need to cover up some so folks will keep from calling out: sí señor...

    Here is what I use.

    Dr. Shade Sun Gloves

Here is what my pretty face looked like after having a basal cell carcinoma removed from in front of my ear. The size wasn't any bigger than the smilie at the end of this sentence.

I now slather that greasy sunscreen over my face and wear long sleeved shirts and wide brimmed hats when on the water after the sun gets higher in the sky.

    Good luck with yours.

When I was in my mid 30's about 20 years ago, my doctor cut off some moles on my back and chest, and the path report came back that they were precancerous. The doc told me to cover up, so I am either covered with clothes, brimmed hat and with sunscreen on anything not covered since then.
