    Default Logan Martin

I am new to this site, and very new to fishing. Can someone please give me some advice on where to go on Logan Martin. I know the lake pretty well we ride ski boats regular, but now I would rather take my 8 year old fishing. Thanks very much.

I just started crappie fishing this year. I have fished around the clear creek bridge area and have had luck in the spring. I have not fished since the spring but I will be going again shortly.

I finally went to Logan Martin today!

I fished a brush pile in cropwell creek that was 14 feet deep and caught 4 nice crappie.

I then fished a similar spot in clear creek and caught 6 more crappie and a couple of small bass.

My brother caught a 5 pound 4 ounce drum. It put a a whale of a fight on 4 pound test. He caught it in 5 foot of water.

We started about 8 am and left at noon and they were still biting when we left. We were using 1/8 oz grubs that were white or chartruse. We were fishing slow and near the bottom.

Tried yesterday evening in the Cropwell area and managed 5 keepers flipping a blue/chartruese jig under a few piers. Can someone recommend a strategy for this time of year. I would appreciate any suggestions, especially in the Cropwell area.

Thanks for the spot. Course it sounds a little late. Kinka like telling your hunting buddies where to go for a big buck (that you already shot!). Just kidding.

I was going to try again this week but it got a little cold (i'm a fair weather fisherman). I will try to go next week. The GPS sites posted by Falconsmitty I think are from alabama power fish attractant spots. I looked for some of them and found a couple. I seem to have trouble finding them. I think it is brush that is sunk. The ones that I have found are small spots. I will try to point you to a couple when I get a chance.

Oh yeah. Thanks Falconsmitty for the info. I can use all the help I can get!

Druss1906, I wish I could help but I am clueless. I fish for crappie kinda like I fish for bass. Except that I use small curly tail grubs and ultralight outfits. Most of my success has been with white grubs. Probably because I use them 99% of the time!
