    Thumbs up

Did you catch that monster today? What were you doing, spider rigging, long lining, throwing jigs or drowning minnows on the ledges? Awesome!!

We caught it about 2 weeks ago long line trolling a 1/16 jig on the Little River channel edge. The bigger fish were suspended at 7-8 ft deep on top of the baitfish, go figure that one out.

Heck if I could figure them out I'd have a freezer full and be at the top of the Crappie circuit. I definetly do not have these crappie figured out. That's one of the reasons I have found them to be worthy of chasing, their not near as predicatable as all the other fish I have pursued over the years. And once again it just goes to prove why we call it fishing and not catching. Great fish!!

I hear you. It was a strange circumstance that day, the water temp was still in the 40's and I was seeing all the baitfish on my screen and I just knew that they crappie had to be with them. I fished under the bait balls, in the bait balls and caught nothing and then I tied on some 1/24th jigs and fished over them and caught 1 good fish. After several passes thru them with no more success, I put the bigger jig back on and cranked up the trolling motor to try and trigger a reaction strike. BINGO!!!! for the next 3 hours my son, daughter, and I caught 62 fish that went from 1 3/8 lb to the big fat mama in the picture with 11 of the 62 weghing over 2 lbs. The fish were bunched up in about a 50 yd section suspened over the drop. The kids had a ball and dad was having a little fun as well.

Default Lay Lake HOG!!! 3 LBS & 6 oz.

This was caught out of BeesWax Creek on Lay Lake, in AL on a LARGE Shiner. I bought some tuffies and this huge shiner was in there so I put it on at about 6 ft Deep and this is what it brought back. She was really thick. You can compare my big head to the fish to get the contrast.

That is an awesome fish. Are you going to mount it on the end of your fork or your wall?
