Anybody a member of Crappie Unlimited on Weiss?
I'm trying to find a member because I have some questions and after calling and leaving messages and emails that haven't been answered I'm getting fed up.
I'm thinking seriously about joining as I grew up on the lake. I had read at one time that with the membership came the gps coordinates for all the crappie condos on the lake. That's what I really want, but I support what they're doing and I really like the idea of your dues going to habitat that you can put out yourself.
So...if anybody knows how to get in touch with those folks or are already a member let me know. Or in the alternative I will take all the gps coordinates for structure that you guys have on Weiss :D

Anglers Unlimited - How to make contact.
Crappie Unlimited was transformed into Anglers Unlimited last year, to hopefully encourage all anglers to get on board and help correct our nation's freshwater fish habitat decline and replacement.
Their website is " www.anglersunlimited.org
"
and their email is " bj@anglersunlimited.org ".
Their mailing address is 240 West Main Street - Centre, Al. 25960 and their phone number is 256-927-5640. Information about membership is on their website.
Volunteer members return phone calls, process memberships, and install or ship fish habitat to new members and re-newals. 100% of all dues and donations is used for angler education and habitat replacement. Anglers Unlimited is a non-profit IRS approved (501-c-3) non-profit organization.
I know this because I am a member and volunteer time for habitat projects. If anyone has trouble making contact, email me at work at:
" jlc@phscherokee.com " , and I will help you if I can. Working with only volunteers that have full time jobs, it may take a few days to return calls and emails. Please be patient with us; we have a lot of good folks working hard to improve our freshwater lakes in Alabama and encourage anglers everywhere to get involved in their area. GPS information will be mailed or emailed to members every year in April after our winter and spring work projects are done. Email is best and saves us money. I hope information helps. For more detailed infomation visit their web site. Regards, Pop Rivers

Signing Up
Thanks Pop, after reading through your previous post, I'm signing up today to join anglersunlimited.
What a great concept; organizing like-minded people to pool their funds and enhance the fishing in the lake for years to come! The GPS coordinates are a great lure to get new members too.
I have a question on the porcupine attractors... do they drop one here, and one there, or do they drop a few of them together? It seems to me that each one would only hold a few fish, but four or five together could hold an entire school. Also, I want to determine if it's worthwhile for me to have them send the attractor to me so I can drop it off my dock, or if just that one is really not going to do much on it's own.
I'm new to the lake and to crappie fishing, so I need all the guidance i can get.

NEWGENE, Thanks for the good comments and welcome to Anglers Unlimited.
We put out 3 to 6 - four ft. Bill Dance Porcupine Attractors ( weighted down with concrete blocks or bricks) per site. One is good, but three or more is better for holding multiple crappie, bass, bream, etc.
If a member want's to put out more than their one received with annual membership, we will be happy to supply them to our members at cost plus shipping. ( send BJ an email at - BJ@anglersunlimited.org. - for more information and pricing for additional units.) We can also supply 3 spheres, instead of 1 complete unit, and let members get their own pvc 1/2 pipe and glue if they wish; as our cost is the same for 3 spheres or 1 complete unit. Members can choose which they want to receive with membership, or we will put out, your choice.
Either way, we get more habitat back in our nations lakes to replace the loss that has and continues every day. Regards Pop
