The trip is finally here. I am heading up to Weiss tomorrow for the first time, and would be open to any last suggestions or possible good areas to try. I will post my trip on Monday, hopefully with decent to great news. How does rain affect Crappie?
It sounds like a trick question but I'll give it a try. Rain makes them wet.![]()
That was funny.... I opened the door wide open for that. What I had meant wuz: Does incoming rain heavily affect the crappie bite? Would it be better to fish before the rain? during the rain? or after the rain?
Before--During--After--?
I say, "All the Above"--
Hope you load the boat!
Usually any front makes them move or do something. I say after the rain goes through and the High pressure returns. High the bite is on,,, Low it is slow.
Look at Yellow creek with a 1/32 oz jig about half way back might be a good palce to start.

Seems like all the good pic's I have of me at Weiss I'm holding up a slab while wearing my raincoat. I'll be staying with a friend on big nose this week. Holler at me if you see a Ky. boat tied to a dock on the left side going in, about half way down the cove. Hope it rains:D
Thank you for all the information. I am heading out of here around 12:30 to head up so I hope to get some late afternoon fishing in. Popeyemaker, we will be in little nose area. I don't have clue as to where at in there but that's what google earth says. We will be in an aluminium boat, AL tags. I hope it goes well. At least we'll be fishing!:D
