    Default Long Lining

How do you describe long lining for fish? Is this just trolling a long ways behind your boat and keeping your minnow/jigs at a certain depths? Any trolling advice for Weiss would be greatly appreciated. It looks we are going to have some nice stable weather for a few days hope that gets the crappie activity back up!

Variable speed trolling motor and rod holders are the two basic needs for long line trolling. Trolling speed is the key on how deep your jigs run. You experiment with different weights usually 1-16 or 1-32 jigs as well as colors until you find what the fish want. Most people will long line with jigs or curly tails when crappie are active. Dont catch them all as we need a few to grease the old skillet Coming down thursday to Weiss

In case you haven't searched already, here is an old thread that covered this.

Thank you for that information. That was very helpful. One other question. I am assuming long lining does not entail any additional weight or a flaoting cork, it is strictly just line tied straight to jig? Does anyone troll using a cork and weight?
