powerhouse information
anyone fished powerhouse that body of water below weiss dam. I've fished the 1st cove on right once, caught a few..And are there any things to watch out for, that could damage our boat.we have been fishing weiss for about 20 yrs and just never looked it over..heard it was deep.

I fish below the dam alot, I guess you will be putting in at Mt.Veiw? which is about 3 miles below the dam.Stay to the left going up to the dam,There is some shallow bars on the right side. As you near the dam it will be off to your left,& the river goes on,when you get to that point you'll want to move over to the right bank until you get past the dam, That is what the local call dead river,Some good fishing up in it.

I don't get that way very often. But if you look at a local map closely you can take a dirt road down to the river and put in almost directly across from the dam's canal. Or go on down and put in as mentioned in previoue post. I striper fish drifting the tailrace when i go, not crappie. You need a cast net, live shad are the ticket for stripers there. You can do pretty good on crappie trolling there.. If you go before they start generation. Good Luck

Harley, I think you are talking about the powerhouse lake above the generating dam. That cove on the right at the end of the canal is called tilleys cove. I hear they are doin' good aroun Pinecone campground

Bentpole, The reason I spotted your error is because I am an expert at making them myself.

thanks for the info, no one ever talks about that part of lake, I wondered if it was a honey hole locals don't want full of crappie hounds. I saw a really nice catch come out of there a few weeks ago when every one else was struggling..to get 30. mainly because of boat traffic. I'm gonna try it in week or so..
