Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA

I spent a few hours at Swan Creek WMA after work Friday, only 5 Crappie and all were short, but I kept half a limit of Gills and Shellcrackers.

I wanted to chase Crappie in Limestone Saturday spider rigging, but the weatherman had the wind too high so I retuned for the sure thing on the gills at Swan Creek I found Friday. Kept a limit and caught and returned fish all day. I used a 1/32oz slider jig for a search bait. when I found a few in a hard bottom area I'd toss a Keystone Minnow about 12" under a tiny bobber to clean up several more.

Cooked some last night for dinner, can't beat the taste of fresh Gills, rolled in corn meal and baptized in grease!!

I did best over by the spring and around the corner in the main area. I can push over the beaver dams right now.
