    Default messed up boat

i found out the other day that my new motor is way too much for my old transom to handle. i didnt relise it was so bad off. now the weld at the very bottom along the transom has about a 3" crack in the seam. im pulling the engine off tomorrow and hoping i dont find any hidden damage. you guys know of any way to fix that crack without paying through the nose for heli arc welding? really hoping i dont have to use my pontoon for the best of crappie season.

Find a welding shop with a tig welder and you'll be good to go. A 3" crack should not cost a lot to repair. Go ahead and clear everything out that is flammable before taking the boat to the welder. It should be an easy fix.
