I know somebody on this site has got to be catching some crappie. Where's all the reports??I guess it's just that time of year. I'm hoping to fish somewhere this weekend if the weather holds off. Maybe I'll be able to liven things up around here..
Haven't had anything worth posting about lately.

Do you have an air conditioned rig? It's hot as heck up here in Virginia, I would imagine it's at least the same or more so down there? They can be caught, but, it's not very comfortable to go out and get 'em!
Don't outsmart your common sense!

Ditto Bob. Very comfortable at night, and nice and peaceful. Thinking about going out tomorrow night if the weather holds off. I'll post a report on Sunday if I end up going.

Went Friday night to Cedar Creek, I think I cleaned 12 Saturday morning. Not bad for such a bright moon I guess. Probably had that many or more small ones and about a 3 foot long gar
No I took a towel and got ahold of his snout and pulled my hook out. I've never tried one of them, but the damn things flopped around on top of the water the whole time we were tied off there. Couple weeks ago I saw some guys shooting them with their bow and arrows
There's a thread about eating them in the cooking forum, they say they're good... I'll pass until I can't catch any crappie, catfish, gills, or stripe.
Not saying I wouldn't eat one if I was hungry enough, just better looking fish around for me to eat.:D
Eat a gar. Hmmmm. I just can't get past the toothy grin and slime to find out bad enough to try one. lol
You weren't speaking of Cedar creek in north Mobile co by any chance were you?
Where are the fish ? I don't know - have not been for 6 weeks, too hot.
Mid 90's every day, heat index 100 degrees, water temp high 80's to 90 degrees. Waiting for cooler weather, I just can't handle the heat anymore.![]()
Take a Kid fishing, keep only enough to eat, and release the rest to spawn again. Pop
