Its me again.....if you get over to Gulf Shores Alabama be sure to continue thru Orange Beach into Florida (Pensacola) and visit the Air Musuem at the Naval Air Station...you can spend hours in there......been there several times....it is home for the Blue Angels.....

Consider Gadsden, Alabama. Good Food - Music - and great fishing on 3 lakes, Weiss, Neely Henry, and Logan Martin. Also has many sight seeing opportunities. Many motels, camp grounds and RV parks available too.
Take a Kid fishing, keep only enough to eat, and release the rest to spawn again. Pop

I live just outside Montgomery, in Millbrook where there is good fishing in the Alabama River and Lake Jordan. But I agree, it is hard to beat the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area for vacationing.

Sorry Pop, I live in Gadsden, it's nice here, good fishing, good eating places and lots of river to run, but I had rather vacation in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. I like to eat at Doc's in Orange Beach, it's not pretty, but you get good food and large portions at a fair price...
