    Default Weiss Super Slab Series

My wife and son and I went up Friday with big dreams of trolling and catching a mess and fishing the slab series on Saturday. Things did not go as planned. I just got my boat out of the shop and Friday was the first day I had it out and we launched and she fired up fine but after ideling for 50 yards she died and would not crank. So after I called the people that supposedly fixed my boat and told them how I felt and that they were idiots and a little more names that I can't say on here .I went into getting my boat fixed mode. I took it to JRs and they hooked me up. I got there right at closing time but they fixed it anyway. Turns out it was the power pack. We wake up Saturday to hurricane force wind and cold but we went any way. I caught 2 keepers and my son caught 1. My wife and son were freezing and miserable so we decided to quit fishing. We went and weighed in our fish and got lunch and went to Georgia and got lottery tickets. We didn't win any money but my son got third place in the youth division. He won a new rod and reel and I also got one. Then they had a early registration drawing and my wife won a minkota traxxis trolling motor and a minn kota battery charger. It was still a fun trip though and I am heading back up there tommorow for revenge.

Hey fultondalecrappie sorry to hear about that it is really furustrating when you think all is well. Just wondered if you may help me in my quest to catch some crappie at weiss this nexy week? see my post below

I need some advise I hear a lot about Long Line jigging I have done that a lot in Denver fishing for Walleye, but I do not know if it is the same. For Walleyes I would troll with my electric motor with FireLine #6-8 lbs with a Mr. Twister 1/8 oz jig (Chartruse in color) way in the back until it just tick the bottom or the tops of the weeds. Is this the same way for the Crappies at Weiss and the Coosa River area?

It is almost the same but you need 1/24 jig heads with southern pro hot grubs. Just make a good long cast and that is all you need. The speed is from .7 to 1.0 mph.

Sothern pro is the manufacurer. Go to thier web site and you can find some places to order online. I always use drifter fishing supplies. You need some with a dark body and chartruse tail. Popsicle works well also.
