while the crappie boat is down i decided to carry out the bass boat and try for a few largemouths (mistake for me) but went to the Preston island area and saw a few boats crappie fishing and doing quite well, we were in about 6 ft of water and stumps. could not see the baits but they boated several while i was there, water was 45 to 48 degrees.should have the crappie boat back in one piece by next weekend and can start looking for the slabs again.
