    Default Crappiemasters on Weiss

Harley, We fished the tournament yesterday. Me and my son in law decided to go all in, big fish or nothing.. We launced at Riverside at 6:15 am, temp was 25 with ice on ramp. We went up river, way up river, to Brushy Branch in Georgia and beyound.

We like to have froze to death getting there, my eyelids froze open and I could not blink.. Man it was a brutal ride. I have one of those face mask that looks like star wars, I just never remember to put on. I don't thnink I will have that problem anymore. And the wind did BLOW & Blow....

We fished everywhere, long line trolling, pushing minnows, slip floating trees, and casting jigs. We had one keeper fish at quiting time. We caught 25 or 30 about 7 inches long out of one tree. Our one good fish came long line trolling in State Line Cove - early. We did not go to weighin, so I don't know the results, but they should be posed soon.

Now the bad news, we watched one young man about 25, with one pole, fishing minnows under a float from the bank. He had had a stringer full and was glad to show them everyone, but he did not leave that spot all day or I would have jumped on it. So we could not fish that one little spot. We fished all around, but no luck.

Pop, If that bank man was catching keepers I think I would ask, could we just make 10 cast into that honey hole you got there young man. All he could of said was NO! Never know he may have said yes! You could have won that tournament yesterday with just 10 cast.

    Good Luck next time.

Bamaman. I was about to ask when his whole family showed up, and threw another 15 floats out, so we just moved on. But I marked the spot for next time. Spot was was on a hard bend on a creek channel, rock wall, and several big stumps in 10 ft. of water about 20 ft. out from bank... My Hummingbird side imaging unit told me so....

LaserDoc, Yes we tried Chainsaw - no luck... The 25 degree cold nights this past week, along with the 1 1/2 foot lake draw-down did not help.. Forced the fish back out. We have snow forecast Monday night and Tuesday, but then a warming trend starting Thursday with temps back in the 50's by this coming week-end.

Prime Crappie Time is near !!!! I am ready...

Tough day. We were not going to fish due to overcrowded personal schedule but at last minute we decided to register and drove up Saturday morning to fish. I think it took just a little over 10 lbs to win.
