Never fished there before but look for some of the older docks. If you pull up to a dock and would have to think twice about stepping on it throw a few jigs under it. Look for docks near deeper water and look and see if someone has been fishing off of them (mounted lights and rod holders). Take a look at some of the dock shooting shows on Midwest Crappie (MyOutdoorTV.com: Fishing, Hunting, Shooting | Video, Shows, Tips, Recipes - MyOutdoorTV.com

    ).

Considering you can only keep 30.....I dont see why you would want to catch more than 40 or 50....surely you have 30 keepers out of that many.

justinchandler, not necessarily, I have caught my share of limits of good size fish off of Guntersville, however I could not count the times I have went and caught as many as 100 to 200 fish a day to have only 5 to 10 keepers.

Well I would take up a new hobby then....LOL!! Cant say I have, or ever heard of anyone who has, caught that many with so few keepers.

not being smart but i think i would change depth, speed, location ,jig, presentation, something or go home before i would catch 200 to keep a limit
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad

I just love to feel that crappie tap, and even those little crappie are fun to catch by the hundreds. Sometimes the schools are all small fish and I will catch what is there. I no longer have a boat to go searching for bigger fish, so I catch what I can get to. I have caught well over 100 keepers a day too, but not nearly the amount of times I have caught the smaller ones. I would love to always catch the bigger ones, however tehy are not always there, but 100 little ones are better than none at all when that is all that happens to be there at the time.

    papapump,
I fish the boathouses every once in a while, im far from from being good at it but I do manage a fish or 2 sometimes. The best advice I can give you is to look for the older boathouses and dont forget about the sides of the boathouses. Alot of people think you have to fish the boatslips but Ive caught more fish on the sides. Some people may disagree, this is my experience with the boathouses. I also like 8ft or more of water but that is also my opinion as well.
Dont catch em all, save a few for seed!
