Managed to get out and do a little fishing in the morning for my first trip out this fall. It was cold and the wind did not help any. Managed 14 keepers from the bank on jigs. 1/16 red head with chartruese tail. Seemed the fish that bit were in 6 feet of water suspended in the creek channel. Most fish were about 10" but managed one nice 14. Needed some fresh fish for a fish fry so this worked out just right. Believe it will only get better from here.![]()
what part of g'ville were you fishing
don' need exact spot just general area
glad to here they are starting to bite
I was up around Scottsboro. I was surprised that with all the rain of late the water was not too badly stained. I guess all the hydrilla was filtering it out.
congrats
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Nice catch, Bob!!!! Nothing wrong with 14 keepers...heck, in Tn. you were one fish from a limit![]()
DrJohn, I hated that 15 fish limit, had that limit many times in 15 casts. It was a task at times as well.
Yes, but we have to do something in TN. to get the population back up as a lot of "not so sportsmen" kept a lot of catches of small fish in the 100+ per day range in the 1980's and 1990's.....If I catch 15 nice slabs per person in my boat...I'm OK with that.
