Wow, that weather ran some folks off but it sure didn't mess the bite up, with the weight Earl and them had. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. (Oops I didn't see the ten fish deal to start with.) That is tough.![]()

Oh it did mess the bite up big time. Just could not stay on the docks and it was very hard trying to find a place to get out of the wind. Main lake had white caps. Those fish found a bottle or rock or stump and crawled inside. I think I heard the winning team say they caught 15 fish all day.
Me??? well we won't talk about it.Some teams only came in with 3 fish.
Weather needs to settle down. Should be a better week. Water temps were in the low 60's.
Also got to sy hi to Bottombumper at the weigh in.
Got to meet Jameslin and is wife April. With all the door prizes they got which was well over the entrance fee, they had to have a wheelbarrow to haul everything back to the truck. From 150.00 dollar jackets,hats,t-shirts,porcupine fish attractttors, crappie wizard rods(thats a 80 dollar rod!) and the best prize yet went to April! A pink pole with a reel that lights up when you crank it. I can allready seem James night fishing on the front of the boat turning that crank with no line on it just to see the pretty lights flash!! Them two will be fighting back and forth for a chance just to turn the crank. They will never get any fishin done. They will be just on the water for the light show!
They will be easy to spot!
We will hook up at a later date james and wet a line. Lets find a day that the wind is not blowin!

Dave it was nice to meet you and your son we had a great time at the championship and did very well in our books coming in 10th place only fishing Weiss for the 3rd time we caught fish all day but was only able to catch 3 keepers the fish where on the bottom thick in cover.
We would like to thank everyone that was involved in putting on the championship we had a great time and meet a lot of good folks we will be back next year and lets hope for better weather.
I told April she was going to have to use her rod under the bridges so the fish would think there at a disco party and jump right in the boat.
Bottombouncer I seen you talking to laser doc sorry we didnt get a change to say hello.

Enjoyed meeting all you guys Saturday. All seem very friedly and enjoyed the conversation and Tournament. I would like to congragulate all the guys in charge of tourney as everything went very smooth at weigh-in. Everyone seemed happy regardless of the weather. I couldnt think of a better way to spend an afternoon unless it is fishing. LOL My wife tells people if im not fishing, hes thinking about it. True. Good Fishing All. Bottombumper
I am glad all you folks enjoyed the tournament in spite of the bad weather. I enjoyed helping Pop with everything. All you folks need to come join us in the Coosa River Crappie Club and fish our tournaments all year long. We have a good time and good fellowship at them also. See yall on the water. :D :D :D

Looks like Stancil and Brink made enough money to get their fishing clothes dry cleaned![]()
Bad weather did not keep some die hard crappie anglers at home. Those that braved the 25 mph bone chilling winds with 48 degree temp., ( it felt like 30 degrees ), made a good showing. Congratulations to all participants.
This is a great crappie event and maybe next year we can attact 75 to 100 teams, minimum. We paid back 233% of entry fees in prize money, plus 2 big fish pots, several sponsor bonuses, and door prizes galore. Most participants got at least 3 door prizes, and we mean nice prizes, too. Ask any that fished the event and I believe all will agree.
We had men, women, and youth fishing this event. One 4 yr. old little girl was given a plaque for being the youngest participant of the event. Thats right I said 4 years old.![]()
Congratulations to Earl Brink and David Stancil for winning this year, and all participants regardless of their place of finish.![]()
Take a Kid fishing, keep only enough to eat, and release the rest to spawn again. Pop
