I still have not decided since I have not seen the water, whether or not I want to brave the trip. I am sure they will have the dam wide open pulling the water. Water running is a good thing, but if its running hard, it can be counter productive. I wish I could help you out. The best thing I can tell you is to fish the bridges. Use bass assassins or fin s shads or bobby garland jigs on 1/16th oz. How do you like that Lowe boat? I almost bought one a few years back but decided not too.
I love the boat. Think I need to replace the spark plugs though because it takes a minute to crank. Rides very smoothe and sets in the water nice. I love the 2 - 22 gallon live wells and the wide decks(7 ft. I think). Your advice for Guntersville was correct. We went to the 69 bridge and tied off to the bridge. The wind was rough and cold and we were getting beat to death under there. We noticed quite a bit of current and fished with jigs and minnows around the pilings and caught a nice bass, a stripe, and a bream. No crappie. I am still crappie-less in Guntersville. 0 for 2. This is very frustrating. I didn't know where else to go and was getting tired of the cold wind so we called it a day at about 2PM. I think I just picked another bad day to go, but I can't be very choosy with my work schedule.

WTucker, when i came through, there were 7 vehicles at the bridge, so I did nto stop. I went on over to the feed mills. The wind was ferocious and i just could not fish like I wanted too. I still think its a little early to do real good fishing that bridge from the bank, some days will be okay and most days will not be. However when they move in there it will be good. I left there and went to the bridge at honeycomb and caught a couple small crappie. The weather was terrible and the fish were jsut not there. Sorry you are having such bad luck. Where are you coming from to fish Guntersville? If I had more time, I would help put you on fish, but with my schooling, today was the first day I have gotten out since Easter Sunday. By the way, me and my lady filled a stringer that day.

I live in Harvest. Guntersville is my best bet unless I go to Wheeler and Wilson which are closer, but I've heard so many good things about crappie in Guntersville.

Guntersville does offer some great crappie fishing. Keep after it and it will pay off. If I ever get more time and a chance to plan ahead I will give you a holler and maybe I can help you a little.

I fished guntersville this past weekend 10/17 and 18. The wind was howling saturday, lake wind advisory. I managed only one, and it was by accident. I couldn't see the bite with the wind, and my hands stayed in my dad gum pockets.

Sunday was almost as bad weather wise, but the sky was blue. I fished from 730 to 2, and caught 16 crappie, 3 bream and 2 bass. I earned every one of them, as the wind was coming off the main lake at 15 to 20 in the morning and the other way the rest of the day. They started biting good about lunch.

Water was pretty stained, and the fish were about 12 feet deep.

    Hope this helps.
