My dad and I fished Guntersville saturday and monday thru wednesday. Im not sure what the other posters are talking about.... we really had alot of bites and the water temp averaged 72 degrees. All the bridges held some crappie. Over the 4 days we fished we caught 214 keepers. Most in the 9.5 inch range but a few real slabs too. 1- 20 inch bass with a unknown weight. 1 huge flat head mud catfish which I gave to a fellow on the bank who wanted it. The hwy 69 (Browns creek) bridge was best 80% of the keepers came from there... alot of short fish at the feed mill bridge.... same at spring creek... didnt fish short creek. ALL HELD CRAPPIE ALL HELD KEEPERS TOO!
Minnows fished on bobbers not much luck.... but tight lines worked well. Various jigs worked well too. God Bless, hope this helped.
Todd,
Sounds like you and Martin had a good trip. Darrell told me you guys were having some good luck down there. Kim and I will be heading down the 17th, (Lord willing). I don't know if we'll fish G-ville, or if we'll stay on Weiss. I'll start out probably at Weiss, since we stay there. I like shooting the docks there, but if we don't have any luck, we'll go on down to the Big "G".
See ya,
Mark

The bite was from daylight onto about 1 pm. Mark if you talk to Darrell I will give him some of the jigs we used.... early next week. Also has anyone else noticed the disregard of the no wake under bridges rule. Most had Alabama tags on the side, it was like that all week at all bridges. I understand that many have no idea of the rule but geez guys its posted on the inlet and outlet of the bridges.
Where did you all stay while you where at Guntersville?
Here is some pictures of some we caught sunday on hwy. 79 bridge at goose pond. on red and chart tubes. We had 32 keepers all over 10 in.
