Default Blue Heron gives up some nice slabs

I had some luck a couple of weeks ago shooting a small bridge. The boat I took is a Fish Cat 9 (one seater and very small) I decided to have a friend join me in his 12 foot flat bottom for some long line trolling. We didn't get on the water until after 5 and fished until 7 and kept 16 nice crappie. Only a couple were in the 10 inch range everything else was 12 to 14. Really good quality fish. Bass assassin (blue/grey) and Laser Jigs (orange crush) were the winners today.

Turn right from 157 toward Terri Pines and then look for the subdivision called Waterford (on the left). It is the small lake behind Waterford Landing. The land is private, but the lake is public. You can only fish it from a boat. I've not put in a boat with a depth finder on it (yet), there is a creek that runs through that lake and I'm sure that is where we were catching them yesterday. There is also a small bridge that runs across the lake. I found some there the first time I fished it. We caught some yesterday that were bigger than the one I had mounted this past spring. They are just beautiful. Really dark colors of blue/green on their backs with the speckled belly.

I had to get out of the house to get my blood pressure back down. (Worst game I've seen Auburn play) Decided to go back to Blue Heron, but I couldn't buy a bite today. Water was somewhat muddy and I only caught one bass. No crappie! I wore them out last week, but the the same tactics didn't apply today. I tried some different colors, but no luck there either. Chaulk this up as another learning experience about crappie fishing. What worked yesterday might not work today! That is why they call it fishing and not catching.
