Time to replace some batteries in the boat, I usually buy whatever is on sale at Wal Mart. However, K-Mart now carries Sears Die Hard, and local stores carry Interstate, Delco, and others. And there are many other brands available at Bass Pro, Academy, and Cabelas.

I would like to hear what everyone thinks is the best deep cycle marine battery, based on their experience. Seems like nothing last longer than 2 years anymore. Battery Life, Cost, Power, and Charging Cycles are all important. Please speak up and give your opinon.

I've had Delco batteries on my boats for the last 20yrs and they never let me down,they also take a full charge after a full days use in 5-7 hrs.

you will here a lot of different stories about optimax and die hards and interstates being the best batteries available. but i will tell you i have been running the walmart everstart max batteries for the last ten years and i have not had any problems. they use to come with a 2 year free replacement but know i think it might be 18 months i dont now. but how i do it i would use them up till about the time the warranty is going to run out and i will trade them in i bought batteries ten years ago and it hasn't cost me a dime since

I have been buying batteries every two years for the last 30 years and I have finally found the ones I beleive is the best.They are the Optima blue top deep cycle. It is a maint free gel type. It is expencive but worth it to me. About $180.00 but will last for about 5 years. I have had mine for 3 years and no trouble, The key is to put them on charge as son as you return home from a trip and keep them on charge untill you go again. You can't run one down in one days trolling either. Gander Mountain sells them as well as other dealers. Go to optima Batteries website to find a dealer.

Pop I went to Optima this year I heard a lot of good stuff about the battery They are very expensive but with the trolling we do I'm thinking there worth the money.
During the championship we used the trolling motor on all day with all the wind we had I didnt even draw them down to halfway.Good luck in your search.

I am using the Interstate Megatron dual batteries on my 24v trolling, one megatron for electronics and an Interstate cranking for my motor and have been so very satisfied with the performance. I use tons of power for livewells and bait tanks as well as lights and other stuff in my boat and have tried quite a few other types and always come back to the Interstate brand.

I joined crappie.com just to reply to your inquiry on deep cycle batteries. For the first time in my life I laid out the money for a AGM battery. But I done some shopping around before laying out the cash. My fishing buddy fished 8 years on an Optima and I nearly paid the $200+ to buy one. But then I remember Cabela's sold AGM batteries for a lot cheaper than Optima...and the reviews were pretty favorable. So about 2 years ago I bought on for my trolling motor. I also replaced my motorguide for a Minn Kota with the digital tech to extend the efficiency of the use of the battery life. I also bought a schumacher quick charge battery charger for AGM batteries. All I can say is WOW! I was so impressed with the battery that I bought another one for my outboard. These are the most powerful batteries I've ever owned. They hold their charge for a long time and with the quick charge charger, they'll recharge in just a few minutes after a full day of fishing. I LOVE THESE BATTERIES and would recommend them to anyone in the market for a battery. They're also about $60 cheaper for a comparable Optima batter. They're both made in China...go figure.

Hard to go wrong with an AC Delco maintenance free battery. I had my last set for 4 years and never had a problem til my charger started messing up...They run about $100 or so for the 27's which is plenty big enough for my needs....we trolled a day and a half on them last weekend in some tuff wind and they still had 12.5 volts in them when I got home.....oh and by the way dedawg, free replacement is for factory defects not just because you want new batteries.....

oh by the way you handle you finance and i will handle mineyou can buy all the batteries you want to if you are a walking money bank?i will still trade in my none defective batteries and get new ones till i cant do it anymore then i will buy some with all the money i saved
