Default Finding Bluegill beds with Google Earth, yes thats right!

A friend of mine gave me an idea and I tried this out. Opened google Earth and started scanning lakeshores of the Tennessee River. This is what ive found. you can use the tools on the site to go back it time and find shots during winter. When the Water is down you can see Brem beds.

That's awesome, can you get GPS on those then input to a GPS unit?

Good Idea. I have used it to spot exposed brush but never beds.

Google Earth is an awesome tool originally created by a national agency. Quite capable of doing many things once you learn. Please understand limitations of commercial imagery which pleasantly are now quite good.
But the absolute very best resolution is going to be .41 meters under optimal and limited conditions. Rarely will you find imagery of that quality on Google Earth. More realistic resolution (GSD) will be roughly one meter or higher from more common/prevalent commercial overhead systems. So be cautious thinking beds will be easy to find unless they are near a meter wide...I certainly would like to find a beastly crappie that can make a 1 meter bed So what may be appear to be a bed may likely be some other residual matter. Enjoy Google Earth and have fun.

Fishing is a privilege...catching is a bonus. Enjoy each precious moment we have to experience our great outdoors!
