Yesterday, 08:53 PMSpoonminnow started a thread Fish in a school swimming near the surface - you ever see this where you fish? in Panfish, Bream, Brim....I'm also curious if this is more a pond thing than lake. Once the water warmed in my pond, about 20 or more sunnies were cruising just below the surface in a large school swimming in the same direction parallel to shore. A bass was swimming beneath them. It was a bright sunnie day with wind around 5-10 mph, water temperature I'm sure warmer near...6 replies | 110 view(s)

Today, 05:24 AMFirst ties in over 10 days, might be a record for me. Got sick for the first time in over 10 years with a cold that turned into a sinus and upper resperitory infection. Finally starting to feel better so spent some time at the vise. Some 1/8 walleye heads tied using fox and coyote hair and spike it dyed tails. Did a few finesse baits as well. I...6 replies | 71 view(s)

Today, 12:10 AMI want to go fishing ! :biggrin If you have children or grandchildren in this case , you probably understand how unbelievably cool it is to hear such words. About nothing I can think of makes ones heart melt quicker and causes that silly smile that pops on your face when those words come out of those lil ones mouths. The plan was simple , have...3 replies | 35 view(s)

Stayed North of the W Bridge. Cleaned a half dozen but all nice and all Males. I'd say getting close. See what the rain does? Lost a few right on the bank, they were just taking swipes at the jig. I was told by a guy we were fishing by the bite really picks up abut...2 replies | 32 view(s)

Today, 05:01 PMGreat weather , partly cloudy low to mid 70’s . The wind 8-18 mph was the only issue we had weather wise . We fished four boat ramps in the four hours we were there . I took the best tools for the job today , a couple XUL’s . Perfect for the small gills we caught . 28 for my fishing buddy , 31 for me . Combos were a 5’6” Daiwa Trout X XUL...2 replies | 20 view(s)

Today, 04:55 PMMagnet Fisherman Retrieves Key Evidence in a 9-Year-Old Murder I love fishing creeks and for the most part I’m always alone. Today, 01:10 PMWell, i decided to change to Garmin for my navigation at the console. I’m seeing a lake level offset ( like lake master ). Is it available on the 93sv with lakevu maps? I’m not finding the setting. I hope this isn’t a pay for upgrade Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com1 replies | 35 view(s)

Today, 01:25 PMMany years ago, my dad had a friend (Albert) who tied jigs we used for striper fishing. The jigs were marabou with a round lead head. He tied the marabou in a way where the thread was totally hidden. The marabou went right up to the jig head and none of the thread could be seen. Sadly, Albert passed away several years ago. I've always wondered...1 replies | 29 view(s)

Today, 02:26 PMSlab started a thread Sad that they put all this foam (sponge) in boats these days. in Main Crappie Fishing ForumI watched this video, and I cringed about all the foam they seal into the hulls and stringers of boats these days. It's great when new, but if water does get into this foam, it's not going anywhere. My recent project has shown me that. Here's where I break into a sealed compartment in my 1996 Sprint Fiberglass boat and "find a lake". ...0 replies | 66 view(s)

Today, 05:11 PMI used ActiveCaptain to upload 35.10 on my GPSMap 8610xsv and am experiencing flickering on my LiveScope screen that goes from a perfect view to a smudged flickering view then back again. Today, 06:25 PMI wouldn’t mind pulling the trigger for one of these if I could find one at a reasonable price. Anything priced well is out of stock or the length of the rod isn’t listed. What I’ve found is stating $80+shipping, and they go up from there. I have 6’6” rods that don’t get much use so I don’t believe I need a longer version. I don’t know all of the...0 replies | 4 view(s)
