Today, 01:49 PMYou're right about the wind, it's still kind of breezy down here. But it will get better? Sounds lime a fun time. Telling old tales, I'm still not good at cleaning em. Of course I have to catch them first....2 replies | 39 view(s)

Today, 01:25 PMMany years ago, my dad had a friend (Albert) who tied jigs we used for striper fishing. The jigs were marabou with a round lead head. He tied the marabou in a way where the thread was totally hidden. The marabou went right up to the jig head and none of the thread could be seen. Sadly, Albert passed away several years ago. I've always wondered...0 replies | 2 view(s)

Today, 01:10 PMWell, i decided to change to Garmin for my navigation at the console. I’m seeing a lake level offset ( like lake master ). Is it available on the 93sv with lakevu maps? I’m not finding the setting. I hope this isn’t a pay for upgrade Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com0 replies | 6 view(s)

Today, 12:51 PMSeen years like this where many of the crappie (especially whites) spawn in deeper water. Just depends on how the water warms up. Sometimes the deeper water gets as warm as the shallow water at the same time with weather and rain patterns.12 replies | 691 view(s)

Today, 12:42 PMDidn't know anyone made 3# line. I found 2# over near Portland, 2# impossible to find in Central Oregon. When I was stationed in Germany, 1967-1970, I fished the rod and gun club lakes for trout and got crystal sewing thread from the BX for line. Tested out with a fish scale right at 1#. try setting a hook in a bigger fish and had to be gentle to...13 replies | 442 view(s)

Today, 12:36 PMUsed to like Shimano reels a lot but al time favorite was Garcia 308. 308 probably a bit bigger than you'd be looking for. Did find an Ocuma Ignite 10a for my Ocuma 5' rod and it's been great! Very small. have it spooled with 2# line. I think the only reel I've seen smaller than this Ocuma is one of thos small spinning reels onr the ice fishing...11 replies | 438 view(s)

Today, 12:24 PMI found the same stuff but don't remember what it cost. Hard to find 2# line any where around here. Found this by accident over near Portland. Normally I use 4# line on my ultra light reels. I'm thinking it was a Bass Pro Shop where I found it!7 replies | 311 view(s)

Today, 11:11 AMAgree many hens may be sitting, but not all day long. Heard one gobbler this morning. Responded to calls but never waivered from his line of travel. 30 mile drive thru prime turkey territory and no birds spotting. Just not normal. Here anyway.8 replies | 178 view(s)

Today, 10:38 AMI will admit that I've "corrected" people, on various platforms & in person, that the "black" Crappie they're so proud of having caught was in fact a spawning male White Crappie. I've also interjected a question on several occasions, as to the conflicting conversation about pictured fish being a White Crappie or Black Crappie ... when the only...9 replies | 128 view(s)
