I use a 2 oz. casting wt. i have a snap swivel at the end of my main line then i have about 18 in of line below the wt. tie one end is tied to swivel and other to the jig. I only use MR. Crappie 10lb. high vis.i fish in stained water so it doesnt matter but i can see the line move if a fish is messin with it. Usually use 1/24 oz jig with spinner on it and some kind of tube or solid bait with a minnow. Dont know exact speed because i am constantly changing depending on the wind have found out changing speed by just a few rpm on tm will turn em on.
