A buddy and I parted for Crystal Lake at 4:30am on brisk April morning. Heard the crappie bite was turning on after ice out. 2 hours later we arrive at the public access and apparently weren't the only ones to catch wind of a solid bite. While doing so I heard a host of screaming and yelling from the direction of the launch pad. Finished my business and stuck my head out the door to see what was going on......Turns out a someone had actually backed their rig in the water and UNHOOKED the trailer from their Suburban, then proceeded to pull out trailer less! The screaming voices heard were a pair of individuals next in line yelling at the Suburban to STOP! Worst of all there was dude in the boat - still tied down to the unhooked trailer in the water turning the engine over. We didn't stick around to see how they were going to remedy their small problem. Continued north to Lake Wisconsin for the day.
PS. Not everybody in the land of cheese lacks this much matter between the ears.

Last year I waited for a couple old(er) dudes to retrieve their boat. They were having issues as the launch was an unimproved launch w/ shallow water. They decided to go around to the paved launch on the other side of the lake. The boat was partially on the trailer and the one guy pops the latch on the trailer hitch! I hadn't got the whole " WATCH OUT" outa my mouth when the trailer tongue pops up and if not for the chains, woulda knocked the guy into the next county!!! What are people thinking???
