My child had to do a mock campaign speach and posters etc. for presidential candidates in her class this year (5th grade). She is a big fan of Obama but really doesn't have the firmest grasp on why, it's kind of a rock star thing I guess. None of that matters to the story. She said that her teacher (white male) split the room in two as far as who did which candidates and it was completely black vs. white. She said " daddy I dont want to do mccain but all the white kids had to." this seemed a little wierd to me but I feel it's the exact thing mentioned here but from another angle. She did her project and got an A by doing her project on powerpoint with slide shows and such but I couldn't answer her as to why the teacher went this route. It's almost like the teacher didn't want to cause any stirs at home by sending home the wrong assignment.
