I'm like you bowman, I cut my teeth on the hill. It is sad to see it looking like it does. When I had to start fishing Russell last year it was like starting over learning how to fish. Fishing for crappie is the same no matter what lake but the Hill and Russell are so different from each other. The more I fish Russell I'm starting to learn where and how to catch the fish and the size of fish are good now. There are still days of hit and miss on Russell where as at the Hill you can catch crappie every day, but that might have something to do with all the years I fished at the Hill.
I guess the only way we will be able to keep fishing the Hill is if they extend the ramps into the water more, but with the water level I don't know if that will help ether.
