What I found to work best so far is a 3 oz. egg sinker looped into the main line, and 2-1/2' to 3' above the crank, which is on the bottom on a swivel. 1.8 to 2 mph seems to work fine pushing Rattle Trap style baits, and shallow running crank baits (short lips). (#5 & #7 size baits) You can see the pole tips quiver, and that's telling you they're wigglin' and rattlin'. Been killin' them little'uns doing this......got tired of tearing their little throats and gill plates out though. Was gonna replace the treble with a single hook Saturday, but went to 1/4 oz Road Runners with 3-1/2" shad instead......same thing.......little'uns. Then my heat stroke came, and I gave up...
