I am brand spankin' new to jig tying so I'm not sure how much my opinion on this will matter, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

First off, I really like that color blue. I have used similar colors in soft plastics before. I think it resembles the iridescent blue hue that shiners and gizzards have when they turn and light catches their sides. When I am fishing lighter color jigs, I usually put them on a regular lead head or a white painted head. That's just what has worked for me with plastics.

I guess if I were to suggest a tail color I would have to say that white tail in the second picture looks pretty good and I also like the unpainted lead head. However, you might also try a white head on there. You could could put a small black eye/dot on the head to go with the whole gizzard theme.

These are just my thoughts. You're the expert. I'd like to see some pics of it on some more jigs when you decide how you want to use it.
