Guys, I just about give up on this high water thing. I took a buddy of mine's advise and came down to the south end on Sunday. We got into a few but mostly caught crappie. Now mind you I am looking for white bass and a ton of them. He has been getting them busting early and late. I can't really do a guide trip on just an hour or so of busting fish both early and late like he can since he lives just four minutes from the lake.. I wanted to find these fish once they dropped back to a ledge. Problem is that now they just drop down and bury themselves into the flooded willows and will not come back out until near dark. I can find bait out deep suspended but so far the whites aren't out there with them. I can't blame it on water color now as the entire lake is as clear as gin. I have canceled 33 trips thus far and with gas the way it is I can't afford to come every Saturday looking for fish so I can keep my Sunday, Monday guide trips. I have just decided to wait until it goes down at least back to 606-608 which is still eight feet over summer pool. Maybe that will pull them out of the willows, and at three to four inches a day I am looking at beginning of September provided we don't get any more rain.
