Smile More Flooding

Darn, we got another inch and three quarter's rain yesterday in about an hour. So, the lake I live on is flooded again. It was backed up into my yard again. I can guess that Lake Shelbyville went up some more and I really feel for the guys that use it a lot. I go over there some but it is much easier (and less expensive) just fishing the lake I live on or somenearby lakes and rivers. While I prefer crappie, I am a multi-species fisherman and go with the flow when fishing. If the crappie are biting, I am a crappie fisherman, if the stripers are working, I will gear up for them. With all of the flooding, it has been ideal for catfishing and I have had some great days with some big catches. I reckon if I was to fish Shelbyville, I would target catfish. I used to catch some huge flatheads over there. I catch, picture and release most of my catfish, at least the larger ones. I am getting tired of just catfishing and may target some crappie this week just for a change, if they can be caught. If not, I will stay with what works.

Will the flooding ever end?
