Bobber and split shot should work fine. I would use 6 - 10 lb line. I like very small hooks with a long shank. With small hooks, you can can small and large bream and the longer shank makes it harder for the fish to swallow. If they do swallow them, the long shank gives your needle nose pliers something to grab onto. Mustad hooks are my brand of choice for bream. I prefer using nightcrawler worms...the big fat ones. Break off about an inch of worm and thread it on the hook. This should last for a long time....even with little bait stealers pecking on it. I have caught many fish on a tiny scrap of worm about the size of a kernel of corn when they are really hungry though. Make sure to keep the hook clean of moss and anything other than your bait.
