Today I took the legendary Capt. John Lawson and a couple of his friends, Richard Marino and his son R.J.,in search of those golden summer slabs. They met me at the boat ramp at 7 am. R.J. was really excited about the days prospects and of course that got me really pumped up. We motored out to about 16 ft of water and got set up. After we got set up we trolled around for about 45mins before we got that first bite. After that the day was full and busy. It can be crazy when you got three people, all, with fish on at the same time, and some with doubles. But it was well worth the effort when you get the smiles on everyones faces. I didn't count fish, but I would say we caught over 30. We didn't keep fish(just a few for pictures). Congratulations to R.J., He out fished us all today and for his age(7 or 8) was well versed on the art of fishing. Handling 16ft poles can be a challange for anyone, And R.J. did a great job!
It was great to have John Lawson on the boat today. He has taught me so much about fishing! I could never thank him enough! It was really fun putting everything together and showing off a little for him

! Thanks John, Richard, and R.J. I hope we do it again soon.
