squirrels; Years ago, I fish the city lake for the walleyes. There seem to be 1000's of them in it. Story was that the state came to stock the CORPS lake with walleye and asked one of the locals where Council Grove lake was. They were sent to the city lake

and dumped the walleye fry in.

It is a deep lake with lots of drop-offs. The KDWP nettings at the CORPS lake had a lot of 4lb + saugeyes in it. I tried to crank some 2 weeks ago without a bite. In fact 3 hrs of pulling and nota bite

on anything. I've done my best in both the river & creeks that feed the lake. There are ramps on the Neosho River & Munkers Creek. Beautifull State park for camping. <*)}}}><
