Hey guys after talking with my cousin a bit more I was able to get some more information. I still don't know the brand of boat but it is a 15x42 riveted flat bottom with a 25hp mercury electric start on it. The motor has about 20 hours on it and the hull/boat doesn't leak unless going in reverse and its just a small drip. I think that is an easy enough fix. But apparently the boat is fully functional and only needs small cosmetic fixes. I hate the paint job on it so that is the first thing on my mind to fix, along with many other changes to the boat layout.

It'll be a great boat for small rivers and small lakes. You're paying for the motor. Those little jons are only $1k new.

One of my friends had a jon that was the same size. He put a plywood floor and small deck on the front of it, and ran an older Yamaha 20. I went out with him a couple of times on Taylorsville lake. Taylorsville lake is only about a half mile wide at best, but long and winding. The last time I went with him the wind started to blow, and little choppy 18" waves covered the lake. We had to slowly plod back to the ramp. Those small following waves would break over the transom, and had the bilge pimp working hard. I never went back out in that boat in anything other than a small rivers or lakes. It wasn't worth the risk. But that boat is great for small shallow bodies of water.

A new electric start 25HP Mercury would run close to $5000 so if that one only has 20 hours on it you are getting a great deal just on the motor.
