Default Cane Pole's Boat of the Month Contest - December sponsored by Outlet Bait & Tackle

Post pictures of your boat with as many details as you care to include. And Cane Pole (and company) will select a winner. We will do this every month (unless the gewber forgets), and then at the end of the year we will select a "Boat Of The Year".

So, you can submit and resubmit your boat each month you don't win, and add additional details that might help it win the next month over the course of the year. The more details, and pics, and cool things you document, the better the chances are to get selected. The monthly winners will receive a prize pack, as will the "Boat of the Year".

*This includes kayaks and canoes. Whatever you float in...

Ten 2pack of Bill Dance's Dancin' Crappie Spins

    A Dozen Lindy Dancin' Tubes

Three 3pack of Eagle Claw Crappie Jigs

    Lindy 2 3/4" Darter
Two 15pack 1.75" Tube Gary Yamamoto

    Wow, right...

    Colors/Sizes may vary

My first Aluminum Jon boat modified myself!

I bought this boat about a year ago as a first boat project. Picked up the boat first and it was just a plain hull. It is a 1548 Duracraft welded jon.

I then picked up a 25hp that worked well untill I decked it in and added the upgrades(weight). Then i had to step up to a 40hp Johnson. Also made a homemade aluminum mount plate, that is adjustable, to mount it to.

I built an 2"x2"x1/8" aluminum angle deck frame. Ran plumming for the livewell. Then layed insulation board between the ribs and then the treated plywood carpeted floor.

Then attacked the livewell to deckframe and installed. Put in a 800gph thru-hull pump for filling and an 800gph recirculation pump that will also empty livewell.

Installed nav. and onboard lighting and a toggle switch panel for controling pumps, lights, fishfinder, etc.

Covered casting deck and sides with carpeted plywood. Added doors for underdeck storage access and access to batteries for trolling motor.

Picked up a 24v 50fpt moto gluide variable speed foot controled trolling motor at a good deal that pulls boat arournd great even in high winds.

I also fabricated my own adj. T-bars and rod holders. Installed a low end deepthfinder but am upgrading soon.

Well guys this is what i have so far. Im still adding and am not done yet but i hope yall enjoy what ive produced so far thru my journey. Have a great day to all!

My old boat! We’ve done some mods, some repairs, but not a lot of cleaning! The motor runs. The boat floats. The fish don’t seem to notice that it’s old and dirty!
