My GreatGrandmother and Grandmother put a bamboo rod in my hands with a cricket under a bobber when I was 5 or 6 and taught me the fundamentals of fishing. I don't remember what I caught (probably bream) but I had fun. I still talk to my grandmother occasionnally and have her to thank for my love of fishing. I now take my 3 daughters out and we catch anything that swims. They enjoy it and I hope they can find the peace and serenity I find when I'm fishing. It's not all about catching the fish but being part of that environment that's so addicitive. The bonus is pulling up something you'd never seen otherwise in such a great setting. Thanks for starting this thread.
