As I awake PDF Print E-mail

As I awake and start my morning, the first thing that comes to mind is breakfast. I feel like something different for breakfast today, maybe some new flavor I’ve never tried before. I push past my favorite haunts in search of the unknown. In my wandering, I see many shiny silver and gold wrapped goodies that are normally on the menu and decide to keep searching. I travel to a newly constructed suburban paradise that I can only assume is named schedule 40 due to the numerous signs. The beautiful sun dappled day darkens as a large shadow travels over head and I can hear the soft hum of traffic in the distance.

As I am checking with some of the locals on where to find a decent meal, suddenly I see it. It may be just the thing I lust for. Over near the white tower, named 4” standard, is a gathering of fellow citizens admiring a fine looking snack. I’ve never seen something so beautiful and intriguing, so I move closer to get a better look. As I approach, it appears to sparkle in the filtered light as if heaven sent. I can only imagine what decadence this plump, bright green appetizer holds within. It slowly approaches me as if being dangled from above by a relentless salesman eager to hook his first customer of the day. It then turns away and I notice a quick flutter of movement along its side.

I rush forward hoping it will not disappear before I can at least get a taste. As I open my mouth, the words of my mother come into my mind… “Never put anything in your mouth if you don’t know what it is.” But I can not help but pursue, I’m sorry mother, please forgive me. I bite down with passion and bliss overwhelming me.

I feel as though I am being lifted upwards, perhaps to heavens door, this much ecstasy must be a sin and I am being judged. As I make my ascent to the upper reaches of my world, I am engulfed in the brightest light I have ever seen. A shadow of a dark figure looms in the distance. I close my eyes and utter… Father, I am home.......
As I awake and start my morning, the first thing that comes to mind is where my dinner will be hiding in the lake today. I hear a small voice from deep inside, telling me to try out my new chartreuse marabou jigs near the PVC tree I sank in the southwest cove last week. Time to get ready to go fishing. I push past the cereal cupboard, I kind of feel like something different today. I open up the fridge door and the first thing that catches my eye is a plate of lime green jello. As I sit at the table with my bowl of jello, I can remember having some strange dream, but the details are too hazy and slipping away too fast to put it back together.
