MS mini-camp at the Rez
Written by majflyboy

Let me tell you, the mini-camp at the Rez was a blast, from the fishing to the cooking & eating, to the hanging around telling fish stories, it was great. Now the results:

First place with 7-fish total of 10.85lbs is Bernard Williams (basscat21). This was Bernard's first time to fish with us but he promises to fish with us again.

"1/16 oz Roadrunner, Chartruese head, curly tail grub black body and green tail" - duc hntr

"I'd go with a Southern Pro minnow tube in Chartruese, tipped with a minnow on a teezur 3/32 jig head." - badbrad

Huckabee’s Lake Record – Moral to the Story
Written by Troy

“People just are not getting it.”

Todd Huckabee, one of the nation’s top professional crappie guides, is referring to crappie anglers that
are afraid to try any method outside of a small jig or hook and minnow. He feels like crappie anglers
have a much wider array of tackle to select from. This is particularly the case when it comes to size.

“A crappie is going to eat anything that swims by it that will fit in its mouth,” Huckabee says.

Questions about Dock Shooting
Written by usafret99

Been bass fishing for a few months now, but ready to start in on the crappie again. Would like to try dock shooting, never tried it before and have a few questions.

1. When you have your jig under the dock how to you retrieve it. Bounce across bottom, slowly bring it in, let rise and fall....?
2. How do they bite? Do you feel a tap, weight, pull?
3. How do you determine which docks are most likely to hold crappie? Is it location, depth, shade, size?
4. How long should you try until you move to another dock?
5. Once you catch a fish does it disturb and others that are there?
6. If you do find some how many do you normally get under one dock.
7. How close can you get to the dock with your boat without disturbing the fish?

Any help will be appreciated. Plan to give it a try this week.
